One control, an enormous type size, and a contrast mode that survives a projector. The caption area is a live region, so a screen reader announces new text without you hunting for it, and everything is reachable from the keyboard alone.

This will never be metered

No capability check, no quota, no trial. Captions are how a deaf or hard-of-hearing person takes part in a meeting, a lecture or a conversation, and a meter on that is a meter on being present. It is written here so that changing it would be a visible broken promise.

What is stored

Nothing, unless you are signed in and press save. Audio is streamed to whichever speech provider this deployment uses — named on the page — and we never store an IP address against a session.

Is it really free?

Yes, permanently and at every tier, with no account. This is a commitment, not an introductory offer.

Can I make the text bigger?

Much bigger. There is a large-text mode that fills the screen, plus a high-contrast setting.

Does it work offline?

Not yet. It needs a speech provider, and the page says plainly when none is configured rather than appearing to listen.
